Cenote.

A cenote is a sink hole created by the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs. Although I am of course fully knowledgeable now of the ways these things were formed, I can not bore you with the details... Let me just mention they're AWEsome, with their stalagmites and stalagtites and crispy blue water and snorkelling opportunities and hamster sightings.
